Today was the girls first school day as pre-K toddlers at 3.5. For us a truly magical milestone with both girls going. The first day of their conquest of their little worlds and the development of their little Einstein brains to be. They were both so excited and had no fear whatsoever! Mama on the other hand was sad to see her little girls grow up and go off in the morning.
More pics to follow.
The girls did stellar in their respective classes. We decided to separate the girls in each their own class allowing them each their own space, friends and the chance to each develop their own personality. Although in a perfect world we would want them together, in the long run it is in their interest to each learn how to be independent. Ms. Linda, Noelie's teacher, was very impressed in how polite and friendly Noelie was but more importantly how well spoken she was. She was a todd with no fear. Ms. Christen, Miabelle's teacher, thought Miabelle to be very sweet, helpful and attentive with a great appetite. Yes Miabelle eats anything and will try anything, a big change from the chemo and HLH days were she was limited to pancakes and Mac-and-Cheese.
When Mama dropped them off in the morning, she was shocked to see that the girls had no issue with coming to a class with kids they did not know in an environment completely new. Hell, they just ran off and start playing. We had not expected it considering that their exposure to kids has been rather limited.
Mama walked home feeling a little lonely, something like the empty nest feeling. Booohooo my little girls are growing and learning to fly. Certainly hard for any mother when in the past 3.5 years you looked after them day in and day out.
Papa had less of an issue this time as he experienced the same feeling coming back from Cincinnati where we were locked up together as a family for a good year and some. Going back to work in an office was not very joyful as it meant leaving my three ladies behind. So if I had that feeling after 1 year, I can imagine that any mama would have a super hard time after 3.5 years. No worries these super mamas always survive.
Long live two todds going to school!!
