Ik spreken Nederlands!

The past couple of days have been better throughout the house.  Noelie is no longer running fevers and appears to have gotten over her constipation.  Her appetite remains a bit of an issue, but given what a consistently good eater she's always been, we're not worried.  It will probably just take some time before she's eating us out of house and home again.  In the interim, Miabelle is picking up her slack.  She appears to be having a growth spurt as she's been polishing off her own dish and then finishing her sisters.  And thankfully, I'm doing better as well.  Lingering cough but otherwise fine.

This weekend Oli took the lead with the girls while I did some running around in preparation for our farewell party next weekend.  They went to the park and walked around the UC campus.  With each passing day Miabelle is becoming more and more talkative.  "Look, Papa, Bebelle drink apple juice!"  Every event is announced and each mini milestone is declared with such enthusiasm, it's absolutely adorable.  Not to be left behind, Noelie has shifted her vocabularly expansion to Dutch.  Today she independently proclaimed "Ik spreken Nederlands"  It was truly a moment I know Oli will never forget.  He was so shocked.  It made my heart sore to see him smile from ear to ear with fatherly pride.  She really understands and can recount Dutch words incredibly well.  Pretty soon she'll be teaching me!

Slaap wel!

  1. So glad that everything is progressing well. Been following your blog for a few months now after a child in the neighbourhood was diagnosed with hlh.
